MYRIAM FORSTER, Ph.D.

Myriam Forster has been involved in several school and community level research studies with expertise in data collection, survey design, data management, program evaluation and project management.

Myriam’s academic training and interest center on adolescent trauma and risk behavior; substance abuse, violence perpetration/ victimization, and risky sexual behavior.

Myriam has conducted outcome evaluation studies for several community based substance use and behavioral health programs and has authored or co-authored papers that examine addiction specificity and co-occurrence, violence victimization, and substance use. Myriam has a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree with an emphasis in health education and child and youth services. She earned a PhD in Preventive Medicine from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine.

Myriam is currently conducting research that (i) investigates the effect of sociocultural and community stressors on access to, and utilization of, prevention and intervention services, and (ii) the interplay between risk and protective factors across contexts that can advance the development of evidence-based programs implemented in community care settings.
