STEPHEN O. AMUSALA

Stephen Amusala has over 16 years’ of experience in the human service sector serving in various capacities including direct care, client service management and executive leadership. He has provided CARF accreditation expertise in more than 30 States in the USA, and several Provinces in Canada as the administrative surveyor for employment and community services, behavioral health and aging services standards. He also served as a program surveyor in the areas of community housing, community inclusion, respite services, support for persons with autism spectrum disorders and a host of family services under the employment and community services standards.

He mentors organizations that are preparing for CARF accreditation surveys on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. As a technical consultant for British Columbia Ambulance Service, Stephen worked on quality standards-related projects ranging from field studies and comparative analysis of response times for paramedics across the province; redesign of the online presentation format of the Ambulance Service Field Operations Policy and Procedure Manuals; and validation of established medical protocols with evidence-based research.

He is very passionate about quality standards and has a commanding understanding of the outcomes management and performance improvement process. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human and Social Development specializing in Health Information Science from the University of Victoria.
